Where Banking Matters

What Portage Is All About

For over 120 years (founded in 1901), we have been proudly serving our local community. However, our community is changing and we are changing to remain relevant to the evolving needs of our clients. Over the past six months, we have rebranded the original State Bank of Ceylon into the new bank you see today Portage Bank. The rebrand was inspired by the challenges covid presented to in-person banking. While adapting to the new needs of a digital customer, we saw this as a golden opportunity to double down on ultimate convenience and accessibility for our customers through advanced online banking. Portage Bank now takes the form of an Internet Bank that still abides by our core values which include solidarity: taking a team approach to accomplish more together, and human dignity: recognizing the uniqueness of every individual. We were founded on personal service & customer care and we still live by those principles today.
